Review of St. Lukes Brooklands - Community Team written by a family member

The team looked after my husband in his last weeks. They could not have been kinder or more compassionate or had more attention paid to his comfort. If I had any queries they were all answered. Doctors, D/Nurses, Carers and the rest of the team do an amazing job that cannot be easy at times - my heart felt thanks to all.

I feel Alison and Alie (physio) went above and beyond what I expected, explained everything to myself and my wife, in which we found reassuring cannot thank them enough.

The care my late husband the patient had was priceless and out of this world by the St. Lukes team. I was able to have my husband at home until his last breath, due to the wonderful care and compassion we as a family received. The communication St. Lukes team had with each other was amazing. They were also an extremely compassionate team towards myself and family and we were honored and privileged to have them in our home. There is not enough space on this to describe out love for them and we have started a Facebook fund - raising project as well as having donations at the funeral. She on behalf of husband the patient.

The care was exceptional and his dignity assured. The only fly in the ointment was I was left feeling confused about changing my husbands stoma bag as I was getting contradictory advice from different nurses, and it was all being "discussed" over my husband who was still aware! Otherwise I could not say anything but praise for everyone of them. Thank you all so much.

I just thought it was amazing and how quickly things were dealt with. I went to the chemist today and my morphine was waiting for me.

Everyone I have met or spoken to on the telephone has been extremely professional and very kind. Lisa and Debbie were both especially kind. Thank you.

My appointment with the pain management consultants was fitted in at the end of the clinic at short notice when I contacted them after getting a pain spike just before Christmas. The staff are so helpful and there is no sense of rush. The nurses even made me a cup of tea to take in with me. This all contributes to the feeling of being heard and cared for.
