My husband had been an inpatient in Derrifeld for quite a few weeks, during which time he was visited by someone who said they were the planning to go home team. His attitude was sanctimonius, uninformed and despite saying he had read my husbands records he obviously either had not or could not retain information. He appeared very disappointed my husband wanted to be resuscitated, than I would not be able to manage caring for my husband and that as Looe is hilly my husband should go to St. Lukes. He may have thought he was listening but he most definitely was not hearing. Similarly a young St. Lukes lady visited a patient opposite my husband. No confidentiality an open ward, we knew the diagnosis, that it was very poor and the girl spoke to him without listening to his responds, taking into account his respites, or appearing to be empathising. She 'constellation' as though my husbands first appointment at the pain clinic, this one was taken out of necessity with the idea that should these two people involved, we would walk away. The two doctors we saw, and the nurse, the receptionist were all fantastic. We felt welcome, listened to, heard, and that there was more to my husband than his cancer. Thank goodness few their holistic approach. Why are not all medical/{ } staff t{ } these skills. They were in my day!!
