The only good thing I can say about kens 'care' was that we were introduced to Kezzy, cancer nurse. Kezzy popped in to visit ken 3-4 times to check on his progress before she started her maternity leave. Other than that we saw no one else from that point of time. My step dad was in a care home for respite whereby on 3 occasions that in aware of, care staff called St Lukes for advice and were told to call Devon doctors instead. Consequently the last couple of weeks of his life was spent in a good deal of pain which in this day are age is unnecessary. Even on the morning of his death after staff calling for advice, St Lukes cancelled that days appointment. Seeing our step father and grandfather in so much pain and distress was extremely traumatic for myself and my daughter. We feel bitterly disappointed in St Lukes and this is far from what we expected.
