Review of Counselling written by a patient

Brid got him was absolutely fantastic I started counselling when my mum was under the care at St. Joseph's with terminal cancer and I just had my first baby. Her support went above and beyond. She travelled to my home for our counselling sessions. It was been a tough couple of years but her help has enabled me to cope with my mum's passing and deal with anticipatory grief. Bridges, thank you for helping me to make the most of my time left with my and for helping me to cope.

Chas been very compassionate, considerate - she has been amazing. Any question you raise she will come back with an answer, ideas for websites; jelly drops. Regularly phoning to see how we are, takes time to listen. It is comforting to have someone on the end of the phone to speak to who understands and really cares. She understands and has massive empathy. She wraps her arms around you although she isn’t there. She is like a friend / extended family. Any improvements: No

C has been really, really helpful and kind; she spends a lot of time with Mum. I know she goes out of her way to get here even when she has a long way to go and transport may be difficult. She goes above and beyond – is a really great help. Any improvements?: No – can’t think of any.

Review of Namaste written by a family member

Best support we have had - unrivalled; very supportive; great empathy with mum and family members. Very accessible, professional, warm. Great understanding, expert advice re dementia. In-depth care, great listener, great commitment. Real comfort and reassurance in time of great need and uncertainty. C is mum’s new best friend. When she walks in I can see there is a connection. Just being there watching her with mum, it’s a learning curve. I can pass it on to other family members. Any improvements?: Perhaps should help the other services which are lacking.

My mum was treated with the utmost respect and compassion whilst she was in the hospice. The care she received was wonderful, and we are extremely grateful.
