Review of Bereavement written by a patient

I received excellent care; Wendy was patient and encouraging. She allowed me to feel comfortable with my grief, she gave me the space I needed to grieve properly, and talk of my parents and my feelings for them. I had felt completely lost with no enthusiasm for life, such that I worried about my sanity but now I feel much better and am able to see that this was just a symptom of my bereavement. Thank you.

My care was excellent. My counsellor was full of empathy, patient, kind and encouraging and I can highly recommend her the only thing that could be improved is the waiting time for this service.

The approach and gentle understanding of the staff. The range of care facilities available. I returned home feeling a lot more positive about my uncertain nature.

Tracy who I saw today made me feel at ease. Also I could talk to her about anything about my illness or any concerns. I couldn't have ask for a most caring person that she is. She made me feel that things aren't so bad that she was there for me. Which made me feel much better I can't me feel much better, I can't really put who words how I felt after she left. I have now hope.

The St Helena nurses who visited us were friendly, understanding, informative and above all compassionate. They made my husband and I feel really 'cared for' and put us totally at ease.

The lady was very caring and friendly, knowledgeable. We felt very confident to leave my mother in her care. We are told you need more daytime staff to fund this facility which would be most appreciated. Not just for us carers but for everybody else. Thank you it was good to have something to ourselves.

The fact that every group member is able to speak without interruption and to feel that one's feelings and emotions are respected by all. I feel that the length of the 'package' would benefit by being extended to 1 to 3 months.
