Meeting other people that love art like I do.
The group lifts me.

The nonjudgmental listening, neutrality.
Having to fill the pauses myself.
Being able to say anything that came to mind without worrying about hurting anybody.

Being able to talk to someone about how you really feel.
It is very difficult to speak to family and friends with the same honesty, because it can make them upset or embarrassed.
They feel for you but don't know what to do or say and themselves become distressed.
This makes one grief even worse; counseling is a great help.
