Review of Bereavement written by a family member

The person I spoke to was very patient, but also gently probing so I was able to talk about my mum and the circumstances around her death without feeling nervous or overwhelmed. The sessions undoubtedly helped to bring things out into the open which needed to be dealt with.

Very attentive at all times from all sections of staff. Night times are a bit noisy and lights on make it hard to get to sleep.

I cannot fault the service provided not make any suggestions as to how it could be improved. I am the bereaved spouse who received counselling one to one in my own home on a weekly basis. When the loss happened I was comforted and surrounded by friends and relatives and fellow church members but after some months I felt increasingly in need of informed and skilled help which who duty provided for twelve weeks - just enough. The counselor was incredibly professional but also warm, attentive and compassionate. Her advice and responses always seemed timely and opposite and moved me forward. I shall be forever grateful.

Tracy was so kind and lender standing towards me and I felt really at ease with her, I cried a lot but I felt I could do this in front of her, I didn't feel uneasy in any way. She helped me understand a few things that were going round and round in my mind. Nothing could be improved, as I found the care really good, also the staff, as they kindly made me tea and biscuits to keep me going. I do appreciate all that was done for me, but I know that I am never going to come to terms with the loss of my darling son, I must find away to live with it day to day.
