Review of Bereavement written by a patient

Losing my mother has been the most devastating and life changing event to date. Being able to talk to Yvonne about the muddle of feelings I have been experiencing has helped me so much. I will be eternally grateful.

Wendy was warm friendly and supportive and enabled me to come to terms with my grief and find a way forward. I experienced long delays before I saw anyone and there was no communication during this period.

I consider everything was good in care received. All people that I met were kind, informative and made sure I understood everything.

The item that stands out most is that you are human and are treated as such. Your comments count and fears are dealt with in a very calm manner which in turn makes you feel of value. Keep up the good and very valued work

I received great support on a regular basis. Initially on the phone and then face to face. It was good for me as I wasn't talking about the loss of my mum until I started my sessions.

Care was at home - which made a huge difference to me as I did not have to go through the stress of visiting the hospital where my mother died. The only thing I could improve is a longer period of care - or at least have the chance as it was worrying to know I only had a few sessions left and this worried me more as the time drew closer. However good from that thing the care was very fitting and has really helped me.

Knowing there is support and care from people who understand about cancer. Everyone is very kind I don't think you can improve on that.

It was very useful and beneficial to be able to talk with Linda about my wife's 'near-death experience.' As the paterfamilias with the 'stiff upper lip' I found it hard to talk sensitively with my family, but Linda displayed great listening skills and empathy. It was good to have an 'expert' confirm that I wasn't unusual with all the feelings and emotions through which I have passed.
