Staff very caring and understanding.
Always available and caring. I have in the past been involved with helping patients at the tending Clacton compass and I really feel there is a big need for it to continue for the people of Clacton.
We feel that we would have benefited from more information on what was likely to happen and more time could have been spent with my wife to get to know her more. Things I mention did not get picked up on for nearly 8 weeks.
Attention to detail was exemplary.
I was allowed. So much quality time with my partner. Excellent lounge area and cafe.
Very understanding.
I saw a lady called Lillian. She was very caring and always listened to what I had to say.
She gave me advice and to me what she said made sense. She never judged me at all times. She just listened to me and tried to help me. I always felt better after seeing her.
I would like to thank the hospice at home team for the care and support to my husband, who was living with MND and I. You gave him dignity, comfort and respect and enabled me, as the main carer, to have time out to recharge my batteries.
I'm particularly grateful to the love, care, kindness and support shown by our specialist nurse, Emma Mazerolle throughout my husband's illness and especially in his final days. Without her emotional support, knowledge and expertise in symptom control I would not have been able to cope during the difficult times. I will never forget all she did for us. She went above and beyond the call of duty. She is a great asset to the hospice.
St Helena Hospice was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
