Review of Bereavement written by a patient

Lorraine accurately assessed my character and personality and adapted my treatment to suit. I found her insightful, compassionate, and firm, quite often giving me much to "mull over" in just a few wards. She has helped me to confront my pain and to realise that I don't need to protect others from my grief. I am at the beginning of a long journey and she has given me the tools to help me through. For now my life has no meaning, that went when my husband died, but with Lorraine's help, I know that, with patience, something will give me purpose. She has helped me to re-discover my determination and resolve, she has made me believe in myself again and she pushed me out of a terrible, terrible place. I can face my future now, I'm no longer frightened by my thoughts, my life is what I choose to make of it- it will be good! Thank you Lorraine. Absolutely no improvement is required :-).

Varying for services would be a good idea. I would value more intellectual discussion. I would value respite care at St Helens.

St Helena hospice has been there for me in a very dark period of my life. Nothing to improve.

The care was for my father. It was very good and there is nothing to be improved. Very polite, very caring. Any questions were answered. Very polite and the caring for my father was wonderful. They were very supportive to our family as well.

Care was exemplary. Nurses were caring kind and very efficient. The patient was treated in a way that preserved his dignity which is important. The nurses were punctual and professional and took a great deal of pressure from me as I was the carer. It made a huge difference knowing I could rely on them to do the tasks I had begun to struggle with. It was a massive boost. I cannot recommend more highly and do not really see any need for improvement.

I like the way everyone was so friendly and helpful. Counselling really did me good. It let me work through my issues and help me keep going.
