I cannot fault the care that the hospice at home team gave to my husband. They were kind, caring and compassionate. He was always treated with dignity and respect. I am a senior nurse and thsi can sometimes make healthcare workers uncomfortable but I felt listened to and we worked collaboratively to give the patient excellent care that he deserved in his last days. One of the community nurses who visited troubled me with comments about the hospice staff expecting 'her' to do the care! I thought that was why we were in the healthcare profession?
