At my initial consultancy I was made very welcome and, while viewing the x-ray of my damaged hip, the justification for a hip replacement, the subsequent procedure, the benefits and indeed the risks, were clearly discussed such that any anxieties I had were overcome, making it an easy decision to go ahead with the procedure. On the morning of my operation I met the staff who would be taking care of me; all were friendly, very attentive, and were keen for me to be anxiety-free during the preparation for my surgery. I was never left waiting for any great lengths of time. My operation went very well; I had minimal pain, no feelings of illness of any kind and was ready to take food and drink. Again, staff were in regular attendance during my recovery period leaving me wanting for nothing;although my needs were minimal. Also, the surgeon (Mr. Malek) and the anaesthetist came to ensure everything was O.K. and to give me reassurance. My room was comfortable, private, and bathroom facilities excellent. The meals I chose were well presented and tasty, (especially the Victoria sponge cake :-)) The physiotherapy, I have undergone, post-op and subsequently as an outpatient has been excellent, with encouragement and great enthusiasm shown by the physiotherapists (Chris and Norman). I am enjoying the exercises given to me and I know I am making excellent progress. You ask if I could suggest any improvements, but I really can't think of any. My whole experience was second to none; I enjoyed it very much. A big "thank you".
