When an appointment is cancelled at 8.30pm for a 9am private consultation the next day, this could be put down to simply being unlucky and everybody is busy. The events that then took place on Saturday 2nd December i can only describe as ineptitude, lack of patient care and utter neglect. 8.10am arrive at hospital and book in for private consultation with a doctor. (prearranged booking) 9.10 am Forced to ask when we will be seen only to be told the doctor hasn't bothered turning up and staff desperately trying to get in touch to see when he will arrive. 9.25am Told doctor not coming in and he suggested 2 days previous he sent an email to another member of staff who was on holiday that he would not be attending on the Saturday despite a booking with a patient. Suffice it to say, that member of staff emails overlooked also. 9.25am Ask to see another doctor in the circumstances and prepared to wait. Told too busy !!!!!!!!! "......ring next week and see if you can book in with another doctor who is much more reliable....!" The lack of patient care - shocking. The neglect - shocking . The maladministration - shocking. How can a patient put his trust in a professional doctor when he can't even be bothered to turn up for work. If this is the standard of care and service of the hospital - count me out. We will take our business somewhere else.
