I had surgery on my hand under a local anaesthetic. I was treated by Mr Zaf Naqui. I have been a part-time entertainer for 59 years. I play mostly guitar and keyboards. I had problems with my index finger, right hand. I was referred to a surgeon who recommended Carpal Tunnel Surgery that should, he said, cure my problem. I was very wary of being subjected to hand surgery as my musical activities are an enormously important part of my life and I was not about to have surgery without being convinced that this would cure my medical problem without affecting my musical activities. I went ahead with the surgery. Six weeks later my pain was worse and I was referred to Mr Zafar Naqui. On my first consultation, Mr Naqui told me that for 30 years (I think it was 30), he had only dealt with health problems that occurred between fingertips and elbow. I felt relieved by this statement from Mr Naqui and immediately felt both at ease and confident in his ability to cure my hand problem. I went on to have surgery and quite intensive physiotherapy treatment. The physiotherapy treatment, provided by Ms Sarah Keogh, was also of the highest standard following both operations. The surgery and after-care completely cured my hand problem and when I experienced the same problem with my left hand some time later, I had no concerns about having the same treatment, by the same surgeon (and physiotherapist), on my other hand. I have recently had surgery on my left hand and am back playing instruments at the same standard as before surgery. Thank you to Mr Naqui and his team.
