I was treated well by the staff, however, there was no-one to take responsibility for discharging me from the hospital as it was over the Bank Holiday and I spent 2 extra nights there needlessly. My subsequent blood test later that week was a farce; my records were lost, I wasn't told which ward to go to and it took 2 hours. I appreciate that the NHS is underfunded and that there is a staff shortage, however, at times it doesn't appear that there is any joined up thinking.

Suggested improvements
There needs to be protocols in place which means the speedy discharge of patients who do not need to be there, taking up beds and staff time which could be resourced to better effect.
