After having my bladder removed due to cancer and getting a stoma, Jade was amazing, made me feel at ease and was an amazing help
I consider the Stoma nurses to be very informative and considerate. At any time needed I was able to contact them for any advice regarding my care. I wouldn't be able to cope mentally without their care, provisions and foresight.
I had bladder cancer. My bladder was removed at the end of June this year and replaced wih a stoma bag.
Everything was done efficiently, especially what has happened since my discharge.
No condition
I was in Bradford Royal Infirmary for 9 months after complications following a bowel operation. The stoma team while I was there were wonderful, Ben who mostly cared for me, & Nicola looked after me so well and were very understanding and supportive of my situation.
Being in hospital for so long is tough, but I looked forward to stoma care visits, they really helped me get through it all. Professional, helpful, always looking for solutions to my specific problems. I cannot praise them enough.
Since I came home I’ve had care primarily from Lisa, but also Harriet. Both were really great, Lisa really looking for solutions to my issues.
Also when I ring for supplies the team are always super helpful and friendly.
Having to adapt to the changes that have happened to my body has not been easy but your stoma team have been nothing short of wonderful & fabulous in the support, care and help they’ve given me. I shall always be grateful and remember the care I received from them. Thank You So Much. Lucy Moon
I have been very happy with all aspects with the services that has been given
I had just moved from Scotland and wanted to register with the Stoma Nurse Team so that I could receive an check on my equipment and the health of my Stoma. My first comment - how wonderful to have a private room where I felt comfortable discussing my condition, where my urostomy bag could be changed without embarrassment when my wayward stoma chose to let go! Well done Harrogate, so much better than a curtained off corner in a noisy room. My second comment - excellent advice and suggestions provided by Gill Wilson that will make living with a stome an easier experience. I have a number of options to trial and am just waiting arrival of alternative urostomy bags. The advice about adhesive remover spray will also save me unnecessary costs. The offer for a second consultation after the trial period very welcome. Well done Gill Wilson. Thanks Allister
I would never have emotionally survived over 10 weeks in hospital without the support of the team. They have been my follow up at home as well. In addition to their skill, their kindness lets you feel that you are a human soul as well as a “case”. Thank you.
