Good to receive an explanation as to how/why etc.
I liked Richard and he also like me went to military. I was army cadet and he was in military school.
My armed forces service went on for 14 yrs!! I also like the rest of female staff and had a laugh with them!!
I was given lots of excercises to help with my pain.
The course introduced me the idea of using a gym to try to alleviate my pain. A little more help with using the equipment properly would have been valuable.
Gentle but steady progress challenger the were new to me. Understanding approaching from staff.
Exercises given very useful for easing problem, however self motivation when home not great! I would probably use an exercise class aimed for eg hip pain especially if provided locally. Eg physio class in whiteparish could be at village hall. If such a class existed it would be more incentive to complete exercise regime given.
Just attended the Food for Life (formerly known as DAFNE) 5 day programme for type 1 diabetics held at St Pauls Church Hall, Salisbury from the 18th to the 22nd of August. This course was run by Anita and Lynn from the SDH Diabetic team. I can not praise the two ladies enough for the quality and detail they put into this course but the icing on the cake was on top of this every day they made enough time to see us individually to ensure we were happy with what we were learning and implementing to change our lives for the better and managing our diabetes conditions, because we are all different. I have come away from this course no longer frightened or scared about my diabetes but feeling that I can manage my condition to give myself the best quality of life that I can. In my mind every penny that it has cost to provide this course has not only paid for itself but actually reduced future costs and use of resources from the NHS. People who attend this course should require less medical treatment in the future as they come away with the knowledge and tools to manage their condition themselves. Please, please, please do not ever stop providing this course or the staffing levels of the Diabetic team at SDH as they are priceless. The care they provide is second to none. There are no improvements that I can suggest that could be made only to keep up the good standards and maintain the quality team that is already there. I can not praise them enough,
Straight forward and straight talking and effective treatment could not be bettered
my physio treated me at amesbury health center, alison knight was a fantastic lady, who treated me well, and put me at ease, i am a nervous person! she gave me exercises to do , which has helped me greatly, can you please thank her dearly for me
I was listened to, advised, and recommended for the gymnasium classes.
These classes are wonderful.
2 requests: -
1. I think twice weekly sessions should be offered, although once a week may be sufficient for some.
2. Before each class it would be advisable for the physio in charge to ask the attendees to please wash their hands before and after the session. At my last visit not one patient washed their hands apart from me!
3. The physios were friendly and approachable and always ready to help.
