Having taken care of my mum for over 2 years I felt as though no-one cared or believed she was no longer able to look after herself. This changed immediately once the memory assessment team became involved and things moved quickly after that. My mum is now receiving care 4 times per day which has taken the pressure off me even though she has for the moment, refused to go to respite care or even a day centre. The help and advice we received from the team - and the admin nurse (Vicky) was exceptional/ Vicky in particular explained the process of Alzeihmers in a very easy to understand format both in the way we could react to odd behaviours and helping us to understand the way mums mind was changing her perceptions of every day experiences. I really can't thank you all enough, you make life bearable again. Many many thanks.
