I have been under the care of Mr Nejad for around 30 years and quite frankly I wouldn’t want to have any other orthopaedic surgeon work on me. I have complete and utter trust and feel that he goes above and beyond when you are under his care. Subsequently I have stayed on many of the wards and have only had the odd occasion when a member of the nursing team has not been as professional as they could have been, but this is few and far between over a huge amount of years. Food, hmmm is any hospital food good? Could be better but overall the care outweighs the food. Overall I would recommend this hospital to anyone that is fortunate enough to be offered care here.

I had a great experience. I was treated with respect and dignity at all times and I always felt safe.

I had surgery in July 2020 and the team was great, taking excellent care of me. I felt that they all had the right level of humility and respect for their patients, genuinely caring about me.

I don’t know what the hospital is like because I haven’t visited. I have been on the waiting list to see a Neuro Surgeon for over a year. I was delighted a couple of weeks ago when my oncologist said she would send a letter to fast track me. The surgeon is either incredibly busy or just can’t be bothered to see patients. I had a phone call from a physiotherapist ( had I known I was talking to a physiotherapist I would not have engaged in conversation). She proceeded to diagnose me over the phone, gave me wrong information concerning a possible operation and then gave unsolicited advice about what I should do. After all this time I at least expected a ten minute face to face consultation where I could have explained my condition and asked some questions. That surgeon is clearly not interested in his patients and if he thinks I would allow someone like him to operate on me then he is sadly mistaken. I am making an official complaint to the hospital about this disgraceful treatment and will be consulting a private hospital next week where I expect to get the care and attention I deserve.

My initial treatment was very disappointing and took several months before further action was taken to rectify it. Since February I have been under the care of the Urologist, Frank Lee who has taken the time to discuss the various options now available to me.

Fantastic hospital, so modern and clean. The staff were wonderful. I received great care especially in the ICU (Sara needs a special mention) where the staff were caring. The rooms were very spacious with every facility.

In the private wing of the RNOH I was treated extremely well by the nursing staff. My principal carer was attentive, friendly and informative whilst maintaining a totally professional approach to my care. As a day case I only had time for a post-procedure sandwich so cannot comment on the quality of the food. The only glitch occurred whilst I was being wheeled to the operating theatre - a fire alarm went off leaving me and the porters stranded in a freezing cold corridor between two buildings for about 10 minutes. Brrrr......

When first arrived - I was Left for a long time without instruction. Day staff not attentive at all, very untidy ward, one student nurse seem to be doing everything. No phone call to next of kin following operation. Night nurse Ruth much more caring and checking up on me. No help to wash, dress. No aftercare instructions, no follow up appointment. Had to make own arrangements. I feel Covid has to take some of the blame. Feel really let down, worse hospital stay I’ve ever had.
