Yesterday, Thursday 12th September, my wife and I spent 4 hours in the RHCH A & E department and from start to finish, from the helpful and cheery receptionist (whose name was just two letters like AJ) to the nurse Sammy who did the final dressing of a lacerated elbow, we found everyone with whom we came in contact extremely caring and helpful. Sammy was particularly good; excellent with his explanations as to what he was doing and thorough with what we must do for after care. The only criticism of the entire system we would make is that we frequently had to ask a passing nurse "What are we waiting here for?" Perhaps on checking in a patient could be given an app to put on his phone which would tell him. Like "You waiting to be Xrayed", or "You are waiting to have your wound dressed".
