My mum was brought into hospital by ambulance after she was taken ill at home. She was in A &E for about 8 or 9 hours before being admitted to a ward. She was on the ward for a few hours then moved again to Burghfield ward. During her time in Burghfield ward she was there for 2 nights, the day time doctors, nurses were lovely and the diagnosis and treatment she received was excellent however, during the night the 2 nurses on duty in the bay she was in in Burghfield ward were very unkind in there attitude and approach. My 94 year old mum who is completely ok in her brain and communication but she was bed bound and has hardly any mobility in her arms and shoulders, asked politely if one of the nurses could help to make her more comfortable by moving her pillows. The nurse reluctantly helped and told her she can’t keep coming over to do that. She also didn’t wear her face mask over her mouth, it was under her chin. My mum hadn’t kept asking she asked once. It’s a shame that this person was like this to my mum as mum was very grateful for the treatment she received.
