6 hours after arriving still no CT scan results discussed with a doctor
Night shift doctors and nurses were appalling in looking after my care. I came into hospital with an asthma attack Sunday 29th November and after assessment sent to same day emergency care. I was struggling to breath for three hours and they repeated refused to give me a nebuliser to help my asthmatic symptoms. I was and still am extremely distressed and angry at how I was treated and I witnessed this same behaviour with all other patients. There was a period of 2 hours where no one was seen and no communication.
I only received proper medical care once day shift started at 8am and I explained what had happened to Dr Sowano. He was good with my care, very understanding and communicated my medical needs with me well.
I was seen straight away, and all the attending staff from the front desk, nurse’s and attending doctors are all incredibly good. They look after me, and I was treated Very well. The attending doctors explained every details of my medical conditions. The nurses are extremely caring. Over all I’m really grateful and impressed with the level of professionalism shown during my stay. Keep up the good work
I arrived at queen's hospital at 11.30am but did not leave until 1.45am the following morning. I was not given any information regarding my pain I had and was not told I could go home at 8.30pm so I had sat around for another 5 hours for nothing. But it was only because I needed some more pain killers that I found out I was supposed to be discharged.
I was sent to Queens Hospital on advice of 111 GP as I had severe breathing difficulties. Knowing what I know about the appalling state of Queens Hospital A&E, I asked the GP to prescribe me and inhaler and spacer which she did. I managed to obtain the inhaler and use it. When I got to the A&E department, the corridors were overflowing with patients. The department looked small and cramped and what few staff were there seemed to spend all their time looking at computer screens rather than seeing patients. There was a total lack of prioritisation of severely ill people above non urgent cases.
Had I not obtained the inhaler from 111 GP I would have passed out without being seen. As I had an inhaler I decided to take my chances at home and left after 2 hours without being seen.
It was awful!
Upon arrival at a&e where I was sent by 111, no one spoke to me. I sat down and waited nearly 3 hours before anyone even spoke to me and that was just to move me to majors lite. Still no one told me what was happening in terms of medication, given I had been sick continually for days and needed anti sickness medication desperately. I waited around another hour when I asked what was happening and got taken in for blood tests and some medication. Once this had finished I was merely told I had to go back out to the waiting area as they needed the chair I was in. No one asked if the medication had helped or how I was feeling. Just sent out. After waiting hour or so I asked what was happening and was told my blood results needed discussing with the doctor and this would be a further 3-5 hour wait. Given I was now having to sit on the floor on the waiting area I decided to return home and retrieve the results later from my GP which I did and found out I had a severe infection that needed antibiotics. I was at queens for a total of 8 hours 10pm-6am. Not once was I asked how I was feeling, or even really what the problem was. No one warned of the wait times or kept patients in the loop with what was happening with their care. The nurse in charge was clearly overworked and snapped at every patient who asked a question just saying they had to wait. Patient care was not at its best.
Left in a corridor for 14 hours and waited so long for scans etc with blood clots in both lungs and legs.
I went to the colposcopy department today and received such a kind welcome from Charlotte and Lauren .. they are so polite and helpful .. during the procedure they calmed me so well i didn't feel anything .. thank You so much
No information and staff rude!
