Overall a good experience, the doctor looking after us was very good and very prompt. My wife is also a doctor and she was with me at the time and felt that things went smoothly. However there were delays in organising the CT head scan, where there was no request form given to the CT team. As a result the CT head was delayed and we were back waiting in a&e with our 3 month old baby at 2am!!!. When my wife asked if the results of the CT can be given to us via telephone instead given that it would be a 2-3 hour wait for the report and she is a medical professional, the nurse in charge refused (despite the a&e doctor saying it was ok). As a result we ended up self discharging as the wait was far too long for the CT and it was too late for our baby to be awake and to be exposed to the infections. It was disappointing that the nurses were not accommodating given the situation and delays, however I would like to say the a&e doctors were excellent.

Suggested improvements
CT head should have been done at the same time as the xray to help prevent delays.
