I came here once for a pre-operative appointment. My partner was here twice, for pre- and post-op. All 3 times, we saw several nurses in the breast outpatient department (Ward F), all of whom were some of the kindest and most professional healthcare workers I have come across. The main person we dealt with all 3 times was Stacie O'Brien. Stacie is an absolute gem and a credit to the NHS. While I'm glad that everything went well for both my and my partner's surgeries, I am really sad that we won't be seeing Stacie again as she saw us both through our surgeries, beginning to end. She consistently went above and beyond to keep us both informed throughout our processes, even answering all of our queries by email whenever we were uncertain of anything and remembering us between visits which, given the number of people she must see in one day alone, really impressed me. My partner's surgery happened at this hospital, too. On that day, it seemed as though my partner might have to stay in overnight due to little more than timing and shift switchover, but the staff worked hard to make sure that they were not only discharged in time but absolutely ready to do so.
