The team at NAMS are a god send .When i had my ileostomy there was nobody to speak to about any problems i had or information about various stoma products.The GPs do not have the insight or the specialist knowledge to advise or help in a time of need .The team at NAMS are very supportive,understanding and caring and are a mine of information about the various aspects of dealing with a stoma. Having no one to speak to in the first few years I was invited to attend for a chat.I learnt so much in the time with that stoma nurse. And what a relief that was! From the staff on the phones to all the nurses i have met, all are very understanding and take time to make you feel valued as a patient.Well done to all of you .

Tammy who I hadn’t met before was so friendly it put me at ease straight away. She checked my stoma throughly and checked the size was correct for my base plates. All was well and said she would see me next year. Any problems just give us a call which is reassuring as well.

There is an air of efficiency in the centre. Although the subject of the visit is serious I was completely at ease.

Suggested improvements
Parking! On every occasion that I have visited, I have had to park in the road and walk to the centre. It becomes more difficult with age.

Felt that I was listened to, is going to try and sort the matter out by trying different products and is going to be in touch next week ,hopefully if I can find a new product that works for me and gives me confidence that they are not going to leak and gives me the confidence to wear what I would like all the better because I've not had this in nearly 6 years .The stoma nurse I saw today was excellent
