I attended Mr Simpson's clinic having been advised that my baby was breech at 37 weeks. I initially saw Zakia Mohamed who advised that I could return the following week to attempt an ECV. After further discussion he asked Mr Simpson to see me that day and what followed can only be described as exemplary patient care. Mr Simpson asked that I be seen in the Antenatal Day Care Unit so that he could attempt an ECV himself. I was looked after by Rachael Hall, Amanda Colley (a student midwife) and later Tina Beardmore. All were incredibly helpful, providing timely reassurance and answering my questions knowledgeably and sensitively. I was kept informed throughout and felt that my needs were considered and responded to appropriately. The outcome was positive and I left almost four hours after my initial appointment feeling relieved and grateful to Mr Simpson and his team. I need to attend for a further scan later this week to check that the baby is still head down but even should that not be the case I am content that nothing further could have been done to assist me. I would describe my approach to pregnancy and labour as non-interventionist on the whole but am extremely grateful for the assistance I received in this instance and am hopeful that it will allow me to have the second home birth I desire. My sincere thanks to all those named!
