11th May 2016

I went to KGH A & E on 4th May, 2016 as I had partially ruptured my calf muscle. After 5 hours, I was given an appointment at KGH fracture clinic. I said that I don't have a fracture. The sister said this department also deal with muscle issues. I was also told by the doctor that a scan would be organised. I did not receive a scan at the hospital. When I attended the fracture clinic appointment on 11th May, I was asked by the doctor where were my x rays/scans etc. I said that I was told it would be organised, and I was given this appointment only. He was not impressed with this and said that the scan should have been done when I was at A & E, and that this was not the correct department for me. He examined my leg and said that he would request a scan, as the extent of my injury is still not known. I have had to wait a week to be told this. There is obviously some miscommunication between A & E and the fracture clinic, and I feel that I did not receive the full treatment that I should have at the right time, which I hope will not affect my prognosis.
