Since we moved here 8 years ago, we both have found a brilliant hospital, my husband has been many times for blood test's, since then I have had a knee operation, which has been brilliant, now I am waiting for a hip operation, I also have been under many of your departments x ray's etc. Just recently I have had to see your plaster room, as I broke my arm, and I have been well looked after by claire, Thank you (H.J. Presley Mrs)

I have been well looked after when I broke my arm, been in orthopedics and plaster room, clare has seen me throughout, also had my bloods done, they were so happy, considering all the work they and throughout the hospital have to do, thank you to everyone. (Hilary Presley)

It is very unfortunate that I must leave this review, but the people whom run this hospital need to know, although I am sure they now do in my case , I came off my bike back in Feb 2025, broke 6 ribs and my Collarbone, it was/is still shattered in to 3 pieces, A and E great , all nurses and Drs wonderful , helpful and good for moral, I was then transferred to the orthopaedics dept, Firstly the dr I met was good and honest, decent, told me I may or may not need surgery but he was not a shoulder surgeon, this was 12 noon so they would discuss later that day which they did and called me at 4pm, the shoulder surgeon had looked at my xrays and said surgical intervention was the best way to treat as the fracture is quite bad . So I went back next day I met another 2 decent dr's and I signed consent for surgery after which was due to be performed the next week, This is where everything went downhill and things were and still are not the same, The day before my surgery I was called and told it was full up so would be moved to 2 more days, (fine I understand hospitals are busy) It says on the paper for my new date if you feel ill in any way to call the number , so I had a bout of flu or covid type illness in my whole family, So I called and nurse was polite and said no problem they gave me new date for the next week..... So my surgery was due at 12 noon the first week of March, Literally 2 hours before my surgery I was called and told to come asap but not to go to the surgery part but go to the orthopaedics dept to discuss my CT scan. This was very confusing and to be honest worrying, I had not eaten and was mentally ready for surgery. I arrived with my wife one and a half hours before my due surgery , we were ushered into a room with a Mr Nitin Modi (upper limb surgeon) whom I had already read about on the internet and thought from what I had read he was a trustworthy man , It was the first time I had met this man, Unfortunately it was this moment which has ruined my life, After he has asked all the questions to know I was the patient , eg name date of birth etc etc he then went on to tell me I shall quote "Collarbones can be treated in 2 ways- indications for operation is if they are shortened or overlap more then 2cm or are coming out of the skin" as he is telling me this he is stroking his hand and fingers over my broken shoulder bone telling me about how risky the surgery is .. he keeps telling me collar bones can be treated in 2 ways , "Nerves are here , Major blood vessels are here, If by chance during the operation they were damaged during the operation it can be DANGEOUS TO YOUR LIFE, not trying to scare you" it was said exactly as this , Loudly while I was completely frightened, He then went on to tell me that its been 3 weeks since my injury and that I quote again "you can leave it alone the reason I called you today is to tell you that cant do the operation today as we are full of trauma patients , bones sticking out of their arm and all that, If you still want surgery then call next week and we can do it then" ! I was absolutely confused-shocked-scared and put into another world of fear by this man, I asked him would you have this surgery - He replied "I know what is involved with this surgery, I know what can go wrong, I would stay away from it" I asked how much shorter is my shoulder bone? he replied "2cm",,, This man was clearly scaring me away from surgery and it was working , until on that very day after I left the hospital , I arrived home and there was a letter dated back in feb from the orthopaedics dept stating SURGERY OFFERS THE BEST OUTCOME DUE TO FRACTURE PATTERN. So I then realised what had just happened to me and started calling the hospital telling them I wanted surgery to fix me but not from the man Mr Modi. After many weeks of stress fear , anxiety and lots of emails , calls and letters , time wasted and contradictions from the head clinician of the JPUH orthopaedics, I met with Mr Modi again where as he then went on to tell me that my bone is overlapped 3cm and that the reason he called me into cancel my surgery was NOT because the trauma was full it was because he wanted to meet patients before he operated on them ,, well shows you how low the trust is now with me to be told blatant factual errors , I write this so hopefully it will not happen to another On this day I type this review June 17th 2025 I now have a bone that is not in the correct position, it is lower shorter and the most frightening part of it is that I went to another hospital where as they told me the bone is 3cm overlapped and have booked me in for surgery as my shoulder has limited function, I have pain and its absolutely awful. What I will say to anyone going with a broken bone to this hospital is check what they tell you is correct , in my case it was clearly personal they did not like me or want to operate on me,, towards the end they did not want to operate as it would be admitting they were wrong, so rather then just fixing me the couple of Drs involved just continue to give factual errors out rather then help, I would not want them near me EVER.. I go to hospital for help , NOT to be put into a worse position then I was in , also I was brought up to trust drs and what they say , in this case I have lost all trust with these men at this hospital, I feel bad for the good nurses, drs and all other staff that work here and have good intentions. Thank you to you , but its at the point I was physically shaking when I came to the hospital for my last time just over a week ago I write this so at least it will be an attempt that it will not happen to another sole It is with complete truth and honesty

I feel awful leaving this review, I broke my clavicle February , I am still going through living hell on earth , I met really good nurses and Dr's at the A and E but once I was in the Orthopaedic department I was given conflicting information about my treatment, I was told needed surgery , then told did not need surgery, I was supposed to come for surgery then they cancelled day before, My 3rd time operation booked in march for the next week.... , 2 hours before the operation I was called at home and asked to come in to the orthopaedic department and do not go to the surgery area as they wanted to discuss my CT scan with me, At 10.30am a hour and a half before my surgery I was told the surgery was risky to my life straight, then straight afterwards I was told I did not need surgery ,, but it was cancelled anyway so if I did want it to call the hospital and they do it next Monday or when they can ! I am sure it was unethical the way I was spoken to by the consultant, it has made me so nervous and anxious and I am now struggling with life. I had already heard the risks 2 weeks before and signed a consent form yet the day I was supposed to be fixed they put the fear of life into me and cancelled my surgery and talked me out of having it saying I would heal fine without surgery, I am now healing with my bone in the wrong place leaving me with life changing problems, I was offered surgery on 8 may which I accepted , on the morning I arrived at the hospital very nervous and anxious , I had a panic attack and could not go through with it , I was told i would be fine its ok to leave if you are frightened. So I left and around 3 hours later I plucked up the courage to go through with it but I was then refused. I went back the next morning to the surgery day care and told the nurses I had a panic attack and they said that's fine they see if all the time, they told me the department usually just book another day for surgery, In my case they refused me, they told me they will no longer offer me surgery and I must stay with conservative treatment, The consultant called me after i had been to the hospital in major panic trying to get another date for surgery, he told me that NONE of the surgeons will help me and that I should see a physiatrist ,, So here I am 12 weeks after i had a segmented displaced multiple fracture , that is now healing malunited with 3cm overlap and shortened shoulder. I understand I had a panic attack the day I finally was to be given surgery but what this place has put me through for 3 months is it surprising? It may have been the part where the surgeon told me about drilling into a 18 year olds bone and upon pulling the drill up the main artery shot blood to the ceiling that caused the panic attack, I had heard enough risks already, was this helpful? no not really , I am just a regular man living in hell right now with no where to turn in past 3 months so there's your review James Paget , It is all completely true and I would prove to any Judge who would have doubts as I certainly wouldn't have believed all this is possible in 2025 England "To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the lord then sacrifice"

Day care ward person at desk rolled her eyes because I dared ask her a question then got snotty as she released she had over acted to a simple question. She then tried to answer the question but in truth I no longer cared. . The rest of the staff were awesome. Very friendly very professional. Pity about the person at the desk
