I visited a friend in Adams Ward today. The nurse (?) I spoke to about gaining admittance to the ward was abrupt and unfriendly. She told me to 'Press the Button' and then walked away from the desk when she could have easily answered my brief query as to whether my friend was in this ward. She then disappeared never to return. Luckily down a corridor I met another nurse(?) who answered my query about my friend in a helpful way. The first nurse had fairish hair, worse a short nurses coat, and was possible Eastern European (?) was both unhelpful and hostile. Normally I am impressed by the staff's hepfullness and professionalism at Finchley Memorial but not today. The friend I visited said this same nurse had given her no help when she asked to go to the toilet.

appreciated how easy it was to get and the reception staff were nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, the actual appointment was very disappointing. The doctor was dismissive and clearly not interested in hearing what was actually wrong with me. They didn’t ask about my symptoms properly and barely listened when I tried to explain. Instead, they kept repeating that I should call 111 or speak to my GP. Unbelievable level of incompetence and lack of knowledge for a healthcare professional and the NHS is not doing anything about it. I went there with serious and debilitating symptoms, hoping for help or at least some guidance, but was met with vague responses like “it could be this” or “it could be that,” and no meaningful attempt to assess or support me. I couldn’t believe I had to drive all that way only to be told, “I can’t do anything for you.” It was frustrating to be dismissed so quickly. It made me feel completely unheard and let down by a service that’s meant to offer care. Experiences like this make it really difficult to trust healthcare professionals in primary care and community health settings.

Staff were professional and gave clear indication of waiting time. The place was very untidy and the toilets had clearly not been seen to for hours. Floors covered in paper and reception area of walk in clinic had stacks of paper towels on the flooor clearly mopping up Something. These were still There nearly four hours later.

I recently had a blood test at Finchley Memorial Hospital on 09/01/2025 at 9:10 am. Upon arrival, I informed the receptionist of my presence, and she entered my details into the system, advising me to wait for my name to appear on the monitor. After waiting until 9:30 am, I noticed that all patients who arrived after me had been called in, but my name had not appeared. I approached the same receptionist, a white elderly lady with glasses, to inquire about the delay. Her response was dismissive; she rolled her eyes, asked for my name in a condescending tone, and then checked the system. She informed me that the system had listed me as DNA (Did Not Attend). While I understand errors can happen, the receptionist’s attitude was unprofessional and unnecessary. As patients visiting the hospital may be in vulnerable situations, it is essential for staff to treat them with respect and courtesy. A more compassionate and patient approach would have been greatly appreciated. People in customer-facing roles in healthcare should have the patience and empathy required to ensure a positive experience for all patients. On a positive note, once I was called for the blood test, the phlebotomist was very efficient and took my blood swiftly.

I went to the Finchley Memorial Hospital with a severe cough and wheezing. I was seen within half-an-hour by a Doctor who looked after me for one hour. He was thorough in treating my complaint and treated me throughout with kindness and dignity. Very grateful to him and Finchley Memorial for excellent service. I will recommend the hospital to all friends and relatives in the area.

I’m being looked after by the dressing clinic after surgery when my wounds got infected. I didn’t know such a service existed. They have been excellent in looking after my wounds.

Incredible NHS service Phoned 111 and they made an appointment for me for three hours later to be seen at 11 pm at Finchley Memorial Hospital. I was seen on time by the doctor and was so grateful for such professional and timely service , efficient and well organised when I wasn’t feeling well.
