1st March 2022

I had rang the 111 service which had booked me an appointment and the urgent care centre. I wasn’t seen for half hour after my appointment. I was seen and was told she thinks it’s a viral infection and muscular pain. I was given a prescription but couldn’t collect until the morning as they didn’t have the medication at the hospital despite me being in pain to which I was crying about. I was sent off on my way home. The following morning I was contacted by a manager who had then said to me that the nurse I had seen the night before had gone home and reflected on why I had been in. The woman on the phone then explained that the nurse I had seen had decided that I needed to be checked for a possible blood clot on my lungs. I was then booked in at a department within the hospital to be seen. Why this hadn’t been done the night before had not been answered. This is not acceptable and not very good care. This does not put my trust within the nhs as then my health was at risk. If anything would of happened over night who would of been to blame. When I returned to the hospital tests were carried out and I was told a different diagnosis. Overall not very happy with the service.

Suggested improvements
The nurse practitioner that I had seen should of carried out all of the tests that she was meant to of done instead of fobbing me off with a viral infection.
