Share review of Doncaster Urgent Treatment Centre
Basically allthough feeling guilty at attending with what I concidered a minor ailments; allthough very painful.
I had previously called in to my local pharmacy; in order to obtain a diagnosis; there I was advised I needed antibiotics; as the diagnosis was an infection.
I visited my GP practice; where I was informed of no possible access to a GP until Monday; it now being Friday & my painfull finger requiring attention; I was advised to dial 111.
Reluctant to dial 111; I called in to Sandringham Rd clinic; where I was advised to dial out of hrs service.
Feeling guilty re going to AE for a minor ailment; all the pain dictating otherwise; in I went.
This is where the praise to NHS from me is well deserved.
I waited in line for about 10 minuets.
I was seen & details taken followed by assessment nurse consultation.
I sat reading a paper for about 5 minutes
I was asked to call in to e.ergency treatment area.
Again details taken & I was seen by a doctor.
The doctor diagnosed a strained tendon & much to my interest; explained in great detail; why my finger was not infected
I was provided with a prescription for the pain & inflamation.
I changed the prescription; back at the pharmacy; where the innitial wrong diagnosis was given; I chose to avoid the pharmacist I innitial consulted.
Following advise as given by DRI AE Doctor; I took the med over the 3 days; no loner as advised.
Hey presto; My finger is now pain free & I am back attending fitness classes.
As an add on; I personally think our NHS is over worked. Under pressure & understaffed.
From me to you NHS; Thank You Very Much
The public & patients in my view; need in my view; require more understanding & patience.
10/10 & a Gold Star from me.
