We have attended twice, waited over 90 minutes on both occasions for our appointments despite them being booked hours before on the same day. This is to be expected in the current climate after 15 years of austerity I guess. Last week's visit was fine. Clean place, all staff thoroughly helpful and polite. The Dr we we saw was very thorough, listened, and referred us to the Children's Ward for further assessment. No complaints at all. Today however, my partner left, reduced to tears. This visit was for the same condition, a week later, which had shown no signs of improvement. After calling 111, Paramedics attended and we were advised to attend the Urgent Treatment Centre again by the paramedics and an OOH GP. The approach, number of checks, length of appointment time, and response by the Urgent Treatment Centre Dr today, was significantly different from our visit a week earlier for the same issue. My constructive suggestions are as follows in the respect of the Dr we saw on 01.10.22; -Please listen more and show a little more empathy and understanding of people's fears, especially with new born children. -Please familiarise yourself with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service "Self Handover Information for Patients", and how to access this database, and please read these fully in future when provided. -Please show a little more compassion and perhaps structure your question style so as to be less confrontational / dismissive in responses. We understand there is unsustainable demand, very long waits, and staff shortages which is not the fault of the NHS. However, when people have spent a full day attempting to be signposted to the appropriate department, it's rather frustrating to leave feeling you haven't been listened to and have burdened the NHS unnecessarily.
