Despite having a pre-booked appointment, I had to then wait a further 1 and a half hours in a cramped, hot waiting room. Although the nurse I saw was superb, I needed urgent antibiotics for strep throat and sky high temperature, which I’d argued over the phone earlier in the day, but was refused treatment, hence-having to come in for an appointment. With no pharmacy for something as basic as penicillin on site, I then had to drive to Balby, seemingly the only pharmacy open in Doncaster. All in all, a poor experience (apart from the excellent nurse). If the out of hours phone call had given me antibiotics, I’d have saved 5 hours and had early access to much needed medication.

Suggested improvements
Waiting facilities - lots of people with high temperatures and illness in a very small room. Another patient asked for heating to be turned off. Poor location near nurse shift changeover area, busy corridor with nurses having to walk past I’ll people coughing and spluttering.
