The receptionist on arrival was rude. The doctor I spoke to on the phone was very good. I have recently been discharged after surgery for having a fungal sinus infection. When I spoke to the doctor on the phone I was reluctant to come in because it was so late and I had work in the morning but the doctor told me I needed to as the fungal infection could have spread to my ear and that I would be given pain relief. When I got there the doctor I saw had no knowledge of my conversation with the previous doctor and basically just told me to go back to my GP and wouldn't give me any pain relief. He didn't even look up my nose. It was very inconvenient to be dragged out of bed at that time amd convinced to go into the hospital only to receive no help. I don't understand how there was no continuity of communication between the doctor I spoke to on the phone and the one I saw. I was made to feel as if I was wasting the doctor's time when I had been convinced to go in. A very poor show. I am extremely angry about how this was handled.

Suggested improvements
Have polite staff on reception. There were many mother's in with their baby's who were clearly worried and it can't have been very nice for them to have been treated in such a manner. Also I'm sure the doctor who I spoke to on the phone must have made some notes about why I was coming in but these had clearly not been looked at. Overall it was a complete waste of time and very disruptive to my work week. No doubt this feedback will not be taken on board.
