Was long wait and was few emergency but needed something to inform people more of wait and stuff and some reception staff were bit abrupt

Suggested improvements
Juts to be told more privately bout your treatment instead of where you was sat and to be informed more based on individual needs

I was left sitting in a wheelchair unable to move or do anything for three hours and at no time did anyone check on me

Suggested improvements
Check that people are alright after being seated away from anyone for a long period of time. I was in pain, anxious and vulnerable after a fall and nobody checked on me, only when someone came to take another person in a wheelchair was l able to as for help.

I was sent to A&E as an emergency. Couldn’t sit or stand and was told there was at least a 7 hour wait to see a doctor. I left the hospital against medical advice

Suggested improvements
Anything - the fact that only a chair was offered for a patient with rectal bleeding is beyond disgusting. I asked for a place to lay down and was told it was impossible - disgraceful

This relates to my experience with A&E and not the fracture clinic who I subsequently saw. The staff in A&E made me feel like an inconvenience and everything seemed like it was “too much trouble”. I went in with a potential ankle fracture and wasn’t seen for 5 hours - not even offered pain killers - my foot was not elevated the entire time only to then be told (after 5 hours) that I needed to keep my foot elevated and take painkillers. Was sent home on the basis of this being a sprain. Went back 4 days later as the pain had not eased at all - this time saw the fracture clinic who pointed out a small fracture on my inside ankle. This was missed first time.

Suggested improvements
See above. Compassion and caring would be a good start.

I came in with a head injury, I had been unconscious at home: the ambulance would be 2 hours so my husband had to take me to a and e. Triage nurse initially took a quick glance whilst waiting in a queue outside. . When called into the triage the nurse never looked at my wound: she checked my eyes and gave paracetamol. They called me in later after my husband complained I was in pain and lost a lot of blood. They gave me a codeine and said my bp was high (I suffer from hypertension) and I heard them say it was only superficial despite not looking at it properly. I was shaking and the nurse got me a warm blanket as I was cold. Despite my feeling sick and dizzy and lost a lot of blood I wasn’t looked at quick enough. I was not once offered a drink of water. I had a ct scan after 6 hours of waiting after my husband complained, then they couldn’t find my file . My husband was extremely worried and made him sit in another part of the hospital when I needed someone with me. After a wait of over 7 hours I finally saw a dr. The dr and nurse looked after me well. After the nurse cleaned the blood from my hair they discovered a wound of 3” long and could see my skull. I passed out while the nurse was tending to me. I was feeling sick and dizzy all the while I sat in the waiting area: they made my husband leave and I had no-one with me. Despite feeling the way I did I had to walk to nurse station twice. I ended up with 3 staples in my head and finally left A and E around 4:50am.

Suggested improvements
If triage had looked at my wound properly I feel I would have had treatment earlier. If they hadn’t lost my file I also might have been seen earlier. They could have let my husband be with me to look after me as I was feeling very sick and lightheaded. They could have offered me a drink or cone and ask if i was alright.

Review of Blueberry Ward
17th August 2021

The midwives that supported me through my labour ‘Carla’ and ‘Beth’ were absolutely amazing I couldn’t ask for a better pair of midwives to deliver my beautiful baby. Thank you both so much!

Suggested improvements
When waiting to be discharged we was left in the unknown about what was happening maybe we could have been updated a bit more however I do believe the ward was very busy and understand there was limited staff so it may have been a rare occasion.
