I arrived at 12.30am on instruction from 111 following a fall, 17 weeks pregnant with a swollen hot and painful but not bruised leg. I sat for over 2 hours without seeing anyone even thiugh there were hardly any other people in there. after that time i overheard the reception staff tell someone who had just come in that it was another 5 hours to see the doctor after you had already waited for the triage nurse. I was forced to leave as i have some care of my 1 year old during the day and it appeared I wouldn't even get seen before he was due to get up at 7.30am. I have since been without care as i cannot take my boisterous son into hospital to sit for hours on end. It was extremely quiet and there was a gentleman who was still waiting when i left who had been there since 8pm! I had the same experience when my 1 year old broke his arm, it took 6 hours for him to get treated. I do not have faith in the emergency department to treat or even assess quickly.
