I was advised by NHS 24 to go to the hospital within the hour as I had damaged my leg/foot. I made my way there and was met by a long queue out the door and on to the street of people waiting just to check in with A&E let alone wait for treatment. After 2 hours waiting just to check in I didn’t even make the front of the queue and was met by who I can only describe as a charge nurse checking why everyone was there. To which I was met with a disgusting attitude and horrible care. I was advised to keep myself comfortable overnight and return for the orthopaedic clinic the following morning as she said it “didn’t look like there was anything wrong with me”. Had I been told this 2 hours before I stood on my sore leg/foot I wouldn’t have been in so much pain. I returned the following morning and finally make it to check in and was met with incompetent staff who couldn’t get my details right and repetitively asked my details as they had it wrong I was finally sent to the fracture clinic. This is where I received the care I needed and was finally given a boot to wear for three weeks which is disgusting that I was made to stand for so long both occasions as well as a member of nursing staff telling me there was nothing wrong. I’m utterly disgusted

Suggested improvements
Advise those attending A&E if there is a long queue of the information about wait times and other options before making them wait so long to then have no treatment. 2 bigger waiting area to allow people to not have to wait in queues out the door and on to the street. Train your staff with customer service and a bit of compassion towards those in need.
