My mother was seen in the memory clinic and the appointment was on the whole very disappointing. I thought we would be seen separately so that I could discuss family concerns without upsetting my mother and this did not happen. I had to speak in front of my mother so could not voice all of these concerns. Her weight and BP were not checked despite being told that she was not eating and was neglecting herself. Mum was discharged as she had only dropped 1 point on the test. Concerns about how she managing at home were ignored and I was informed that it was "a social care issue" I appreciate that services are stretch but was left feeling very unsupported.

Suggested improvements
It would have been helpful to have spoken to staff without my mum being present so that I could have discussed all of the families concerns. I appreciate that on paper mum looked as though she is doing well but was very disappointed that concerns about her ability to cope at home were dismissed and she was discharged .
