The care given was very good. Also they cared about me his wife and carer which was very reassuring. The only thing I would say is would have helped with a little more notice to plan the day.

Response from Cynthia Spencer Hospice

Thank you for your feedback. We try to provide as much notice as possible that a shift is available. Due to the nature of our work, we have to review the caseload on a daily basis, review the needs of patients and allocate staff based on the needs. We also have to take into account whether other patients the team was due to visit have sadly died during the day. Therefore, if a patient has died on the afternoon of one day, the nurse who was due to visit is then available to provide a shift to another patient and the team will telephone the new patient or family usually in the afternoon to notify them they have a shift available. This could be at very short notice.
