I spent the Christmas period at Cynthia Spencer Hospice. Although I was unable to get home very much, it was important to me to be able to see groups of family and friends over the Christmas period. I therefore asked to use the lounge on several occasions, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Health care assistants June and Charlotte took particular delight in setting up the room for my guests and me, Setting up the dining table with crockery and glasses and making the room look festive. My visitors and I felt extraordinarily welcome, and despite the fact that June and Charlotte had plenty of other priorities, they were clearly committed to enabling me to enjoy the festive season as much as possible. At all times June and Charlotte are brilliant members of the excellent care team at the hospice, but their commitment to helping me host a few small parties really made a difference to my Christmas. Thanks to them both - They are lovely!
