I attended at A & E today at Crosshouse Hospital and was seen by the triage nurse. I was left feeling as if I had wasted their time and they couldn't be bothered to see me. I am a 25 year old female and I think that's the problem, you have to be a certain age before anyone in the NHS takes you seriously. I was clearly worried about my symptoms - but was asked how sore my pain was on a scale of 1 - 10, then told to go home and take painkillers without any kind of tests being carried out. I thought it would be a good idea to see a professional, however I was left feeling extremely upset with no faith whatsoever in the NHS. This was an absolute waste of time and I wish I hadn't bothered.

My sister B H was in ward D3 in room 206. She was admitted a week ago and it became quickly apparent it was for palliative care. The care she received was second to none and the staff were kind caring and totally focused on her care and our welfare. I would like to thank Dr Miles and all the staff of ward 3D for their empathy, understanding and exceptional care. I don’t know if I can name names but the day staff night staff both trained and untrained couldn’t do enough for me or her sons. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. She passed away very peacefully and in no pain today. We are all broken hearted but grateful she’s at peace

My 86 year old mother has been in longterm care in crosshouse after falling and breaking her hip then being readmitted after various other falls. She is now not safe to stay at home. She is due to have a cataract operation on 1 october but staff there told ayr hospital she is not fit. The thing with dementia patients and cataracts is that if the patient can see well their quality of life will improve. Furthermore the recommendations when operating a dementia patient are to continuously reassure the patient and if necessary to administer a light sedative. Due to the actions of the staff in ward 5a the operation has been postponed again until December. They never even spoke to the family about it. Maybe the staff in 5a should learn more about how to treat dementia patients. Even the mental health doctor said that this operation would do her good. Disgusted by the care. All they want to do is keep her withib four walls when these sort of patients need to see the world outside the ward. No idea at all from the nurses im afraid.

Well this is going to be quite long but I will just try and keep it short......from the very start of my diagnoses way back in 2016 (Throat cancer ) I have had nothing but exceptional care from everyone involved in my journey to get where I am today ......From Surgeons, Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, I cannot name every person involved obviously ...porters ....cleaners etc ....list goes on, . I owe my life .....and now quality of life to these people.......part of my after care is to get my Stoma checked and any issue resolved ......so please could you please pass this message on to the the team that do this for me ( I don't want too mention names) they are all in the speech therapy Dept........And the Consultant (Who has even operated on me for re-puncture thank you X} ............I hope you all enjoy your tablet.........(Maybe a wee clue ) Please Admin if you can pass this on to them would be much appreciated !

I was admitted on the 27/02/25 and received treatment in A&E and the Gynecology Ward ,all staff from the tea girl, cleaners were brilliant . I was moved to a side room within minutes due to me suffering from migraines, I wish to thank everyone, especially the GP who cared for me , Kerley, Carolyn and all the others that I can't remember there names, also the girl who carried my bags down to the care , every one of yous do a fantastic job with a smile on your faces even thought you are run off your feet . Why does an 85 year old woman who has fallen and has a suspected broken hip have to sit in a wheelchair for over 4 hours before she is seen and given morphine for the extreme pain. What is going on here? She paid her contributions all her working life. I know it is busy with junkies and others but seems that the junkies are the ones who are receiving priority here

As Mr John T Black was admitted to this hospital in few occasions the treatment was awful he had fallen several times at home .so was accepted A/E on which was fine .But as moved to ward 5D ,this was not very comfortable ward for him considering he has Pulmonary Fibrosis in lungs ,stage 3 Kidney disease on which both not able to cure .It was only matter of time in that ward once he able to walk to toilet with zimmer frame they would ok it with PT as they said his mobility on a baseline not fit in his GP words not totally fit for home , After this happened he fell again at home ,all these dates were from 21\06/2024 till day he passed 13/08/2024,So i suggest please if u can dont put ur elderly friends or relatives near this ward .or they will suffer

Went in for a colonoscopy procedure today and although there was a bit of a wait to get it done the procedure was done and carried out by wonderful staff. They helped me through it and explained during it what was happening. Then explained what was found and what would happen next. Well done to all the staff

I was a patient at the hospital on the 4/3/2024 and was to have a Colonoscopy procedure. I requested sedation for pain relieve. Was informed that another girl was doing it on training but the main professional would be present. Never have i suffered as much pain in all my life. I asked when i would get the jag for pain relieve and was told i had it 15 minutes before. I had seen a clear like water being injected but felt no difference whatsoever. Probably was water. soon into the procedure i felt tremendous pain and grasped the side rail in the hope of getting relieve. I felt to much air was being inserted. The sweat with the pain i endured continued to run off me and a member of staff put a cold wet cloth onto my face which didnt take any pain away. I then due to to pain felt sick and said so, then a sick container was placed at my mouth. I heard saying will we stop. I said yes. Got dressed and went through to another room for some drinks. I was told the script about not signing legal papers, driving etc and staying with some overnight. All a scam to make it appear i did get pain relieve. Well you cant get pain relieve and suffer what i did. While waiting for my pickup a female came in and appeared totally out of it with drugs. She certainly had sedation. She was soon removed from my area as i could see what a sedation person looked like and was led away arm in arm to go for a wee walk away from me. The staff member did say you seem to have had a reaction to the drugs, probably for my benefit. I will be 75 yrs old in a couple of months and feel i could have suffered a cardiac arrest on there table. If you check the internet you can read that some elderly patients may get reduced pain relieve or none and it is better if patients dont ask for sedation as it can bring costs down. Also if your elderly staff can make up stories as the nhs can hide a lot of complaints and try keep them inhouse just like the Royal Mail did but in time the truth comes to the surface. When your elderly you get ignored more. I shall never forget the pain the nhs put me through when it was there job to keep me safe and pain-free. Joseph Robertson

I was in the Maxillofacial Unit to get surgery for facial lesions yesterday 07/02/24. Every single one of the staff from start to finish were an absolute godsend. I just hope they know how much I appreciated everyone.
