Invaluable help and advice from IRIS family Support Person (Maryse Plisnier)
It is a long, exhausting and frightening road when someone close to you becomes lost in their addiction. It is often bewildering and very hard to know what to do for the best. Learning how to support the person involved (and look after yourself), without taking over is a fine balance. Having someone to advise, educate and provide essential reassurance and guidance during times of crisis has made a huge difference to our family and to the ongoing successful journey of the person involved.
Maryse herself is infinitely patient, reliable and and well informed. She has a degree of humanity that cannot be learned. (Qualities that have proved to be very important when one's own confidence in being able to help/survive/see the 'wood from the trees' , is severely shaken).
Thank you
The lady who dealt with me questioned WHY I was here. Made me feel really in the way. She told me off for using dressings that I had been supplied by the department.
As usual, we received excellent care which was friendly, professional and first class.
I cannot think of any way in which it could be improved as we have had extremely good care for many years.
Always good.
Time keeping. Very pleasant efficient staff. Explanations on treatment progressed.
