My main community midwife Becky Barrett has been fantastic made me feel really at ease and answered all my questions since I am a first time Mum. Gave me all the information and advice that I needed. Becky was on holiday for one of my appointments and I was booked in with her colleague Emily North. I left that appointment feeling angry and low due to the way she talked to me. She kept going on about my weight being an issue. My husband and I had already decided we would want the birth in the main delivery suite since its our first baby. But Emily made a point of saying I wouldn't be able to have it anywhere else because of my weight. Emily then asked why I wasn't under the care of a consultant this was due to my BMI being under the threshold at the beginning of my pregnancy. I had been loosing weight through the beginning of my pregnancy until baby really started to grow and have only gained 6kg and I'm nearly 37 weeks. Which Becky advised I should be really proud of. I wouldn't want to be seen by Emily again.
