Andy is a great listener and tried to find practical ways which may help me find a relief to my physical health which is impacting upon my mental wellbeing. Andy explained everything he could do within his remit and was apologetic when he knew that the struggles would continue. Although he has discharged me as there is nothing further he can offer within his role, he has invited me to make contact in the future in the event I need support. I wish Andy all the best for the future.

Suggested improvements
There is no care-coordinator for physical health, this is left to the patient to navigate the complex system with the support of PALS and formal complaint processes. Even though, Therapy for You and a Neurologist requested referrals to the specialist mental health team, these were declined. This has further impacted my mental health as there seems little a patient can do to receive the necessary support. A referral would have enabled a psychiatrist to review the antidepressant and explore therapeutic solutions for the severe anxiety. It would be helpful for someone to advocate on behalf of patients. Someone who understands the need for the gaps to be bridged and liaise with the CCG to ensure that a better service can be delivered to all.
