I was supported throughout my pregnancy with my decision to have a home birth and I felt well informed and prepared. The home birth itself was an amazing experience, I felt completely safe and comfortable. The midwives attending the birth were both familiar with my baby and took great care to ensure I had the birth I wanted. After the birth I was able to relax straight away while the midwives sorted everything. I think this enabled me to successfully breastfeed and latch baby so quickly. Overall it was an amazing experience and having had a hospital birth and home birth I wouldn't hesitate to choose to home birth again.
