26th October 2022

This was one of the most poorly organised examples of private health care I have experienced. Here is the schedule: 1. Fri 21 Oct - My cardiologist's assistant tells me she has booked a CT Cardio Angiogram at Cleveland Clinic for the coming Mon 24 Oct, and that the clinic would be calling me to arrange the exact time. No one from the clinic calls. 2. Mon 24 Oct - Around 10am, I call my cardiologist to confirm that no one from Cleveland has been in touch. They chase Cleveland clinic, and a lady called "Katie" eventually calls me. We agree a time, but she tells me that because I have had a cup of tea that morning (unsurprising since I have been given zero notice or instructions about the procedure), she will need to confirm that it is still ok. Katie never calls back. She also doesn't tell me the address where the procedure will take place, nor does she bother sending me an email to confirm. She has also not provided me with a return phone number, so I again have to ask my cardiologist's assistant to chase. Eventually, someone (not Katie) calls from Cleveland to tell me that the procedure will be at Portland Place. He seems utterly confused when I ask him why I havent received a confirmation email, but eventually he sends one to me. 3. Mon 24 Oct - I arrive at Cleveland Clinic, and at check in, am cheerily greeted by the aforementioned Katie who says she was the one who spoke to me earlier. She still has absolutely no sense of awareness of the fact that she provided me with no information at all about my appointment, and has no sense of shame about her inadequate performance. 4. Mon 24 Oct - The quality of care I receive is slapdash, amateurish and verging on the insulting. The radiologist and assistant who performed my angiogram seemed to be doing this for the first time. They were uncertain, unhelpful, and left me in physically uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time. On completion, there was zero after care - the radiologist was extremely unhelpful with where I should go next. Bearing in mind what I had just been through, I should have some assistance. There was absolutely none. There was no one to show me back to the changing room, and when I found it, there were used gowns strewn on the chairs in the room. I complained at reception, but I doubt very much that any action was taken, so I am writing this all down now.

Suggested improvements
EVERYTHING could have been done better. I would never choose to return to Cleveland if I have the choice. It was worthy of 0/10 rating. In the ratings above, I have given one star. I would rather give zero stars, but I wanted the reader to be sure that I have provided the rating on purpose, and not just forgotten to provide one. So for all the one star ranks, please accept a zero star.

My cardiologist and his assistant are exceptional. Everything about the Cleveland Clinic itself is terrible.
