The surgeon and the speech therapists were A1. The administration and nursing side were a shambles.
The hospital should be closed down as a danger to the public.
I even had to spend half a day finding where the operation was to take place. We had not been told. We were then given the wrong address. Twice over. The two facilities were miles apart.
We were not given any pre-op guidance re when to stop eating etc until I insisted the day before. The written paperwork was delivered to the room the day AFTER the operation. I had to get on to the head office in Ohio to get things moving.
Food was delivered very slowly and late. Initially the patient (with a brain tumour) was told that she had to order food by an iPad which she was totally unfamiliar with and incapable of using because of her condition.
After the major surgery, no one bothered telling the patient what was supposed to happen next - even tho the surgery was only the first step in the treatment of a brain tumour.
On the day of discharge the nurse tried to give the patient some important heart medication twice over! Luckily the confused patient called her husband who immediately rushed over and prevented the overdose happening.
Proper communication with the patient was dreadful to non-existent. The MyChart system is a joke. It says there are messages for the patient when there isn’t anything new.
Apart from the surgeon and the speech therapist, the whole place reeked of a lack of professionalism and care by an enterprise only out to make money.
The Cleveland Clinic should be shut down asap. The NHS on a bad day would have been far better.
Someone should get the management of the whole operation into shape. Until they do so, the Clinic should be closed and BUPA and the Department of Health alerted.
The treatment and care that I received at the Clinic before and after my surgery was exceptionally good, and it is difficult to see what the Clinic and its staff could have done to make my experience any better.
I had downloaded all my medical notes pertaining to this particular medical problem I am together with links for the scans. I did this over two weeks ago.The consultant had not downloaded the scans nor was he able to use the cds I brought with me.
I just regurgitatied my medical history and as I have a brain injury this has affected my memory. I came all the way from Russia in order to receive treatment and then return as soon as possible

Spoke to professor Murphy. He was very good,he listened to what I had to say and explained my treatment plan very well. He seemed like a genuinely nice person, would definitely recommend him to others.
Mr Fevzi Shakir is always down-to-earth and easy to speak to about issues that are personal and require sensitivity. He made me feel relaxed, which is so important when having surgery and the caregivers/nurses (Jeez/JC, Jen and Isaac) who took care of me were all friendly, thoughtful and kind. The hospital was very clean and I was made to feel very welcome on arrival.
