Share review of Cleveland Clinic London Hospital
Overall I was really satisfied and felt secure and well-treated. However, having been asked to attend at 13.00 for a 15.15 procedure, I was sent to the basement reception area and then left in the basement reception area for an hour and only seemed to be dealt with by a member of reception staff when I queried what was going to happen to me when she was dealing with other people. I did feel if I had not asked I might still be sitting there. It became apparent that I should have been sent to the 5th floor reception where I would have been checked into my room and taken to my procedure from there (which is what I expected to happen). This meant that my case and clothes had to go from the basement to the resus room and only then to my room on the 5th floor when I did. So later, I had to get nursing staff to find my shoes and tablet which had been left in the basement reception area, which caused me some unnecessary anxiety after my operation.
Unfortunately my consultant was not able to see me after the operation and to do the discharge personally. So I was never told what to do and who/how to contact if I had any problems after the operation. And as my follow up appointment with the consultant is not until 4 weeks after the operation this seems an important omission. Unfortunately at the time I omitted to ask about it myself.
