Late change to time of admission, 16 hours notice. Given the need to arrange travel, accommodation, parking and childcare, this did create some difficulties for us. When in contact with reservations staff to understand the change in plans, which include the knock-on effect of a likely later procedure and later discharge, I felt the person I was talking to was not really listening and rushing to get me off the phone. However, in the end we did get to a workable plan and the actual admission and care was great.

Admissions letter contains admission time and instructions on fasting before procedure, but does not record procedure time. This makes it harder to ensure that the instructions are met. Perhaps the admissions letter could record "earliest likely procedure time"?
