As a business owner and mentor for 40 years, I find your processes of communication are somewhat flawed. I.e. left hand doesn’t always know what the right hand is doing. Little things like basic knowledge of how to take blood pressure eg One should never ask a patient questions whilst taking blood pressure as this increases blood pressure upon which wrong diagnosis can be given. Cuff shouldn’t be placed around the elbow etc. There appears to be no seamless, handover of patient information and questions answered. I’ve been asked four times the very same questions from four different nurses from both floors, once should be enough, recorded and handed over to nurses downstream. Bathroom Curious to know why toilet seats are not soft close to avoid noise. Bathroom lights only turn off after one hour therefore fully lit throughout the night as nurses coming in and out disturbing the bathroom sensor. One would expect the bathroom light to go off after 30 seconds of none use. The bed constantly inflates, deflates, makes a whirring noise, impossible to sleep. The bed was eventually switched off after I asked three separate nurses after which the bed continually beeped for approximately 30 minutes, all in all a bad night sleep. Would have been helpful. If there was a arm above the bed, so one could pull themselves up to go to the bathroom and back especially after hernia operations. Not a big issue, but Poor communication between nurses and kitchen, saying I should be Nil by Mouth which was incorrect, no one came to offer food evening meal or breakfast.

Suggested improvements
As above -training !!

I’ve had many operations, never had a consultant surgeon, being so efficient, attentive to detail, made me feel comfortable ,knew what he was doing, first rate outcome. Truly the best ever.

Nadey Hakim - first rate surgery, kept fully informed and felt confident I was in the right hands. I’d like to help train /mentor your staff
